Fred L. Myers, Jr. is a native of Cocke County, Tennessee, born to the late Fred and Dossie Myers in Union County, Tennessee. He graduated from Cocke County High School, enrolled at the University of Tennessee and obtained a bachelor of arts and a doctor of jurisprudence degrees. Upon his graduation from law school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a private in the infantry. Upon completion of his active duty, he stayed in the Tennessee National Guard, received a commission and was honorably discharged eight years later as a captain of armor. At the completion of active duty, he joined his father’s firm in 1962 and remained in practice in the family law office at its current location. After his father’s demise, he, along with attorney Melissia R. Ball, continued his law practice and in 2007 formed the limited liability partnership of Myers & Ball LLP. Fred L. Myers, Jr. in conjunction with his law practice, serves as judge for the city of Parrottsville, Tennessee.
